Bunkered With Femboy v1.0
It’s funny how the first thing I remember isn’t the story but the sound of the goddamn rain outside the fake apartment window. The drops hit the glass in a way that almost distracted me from Riley’s awkward little smile. He’s cute in that way that makes your chest ache - not because he’s perfect, but because he’s not. The game doesn’t rush you into his bed either, which honestly pissed me off at first. I was ready for something filthy in the first ten minutes, but instead I got this quiet, shivering boy talking about font choices and deadlines like any normal person who hides the soft stuff under sarcasm. Then, when the moment finally happens - his confession scene - it lands harder than I expected. The writing feels like it was made by someone who’s actually been lonely for real, not just mimicking what loneliness looks like from the outside.
There’s one scene in the kitchen I kept replaying. Nothing outrageous even happens - just Riley leaning against the counter, light bouncing off his damp hair. I clicked the wrong option and made him flinch. The game didn’t punish me with a big “bad end,” it just... moved on like life does after you say the wrong thing. It’s that slow burn of regret that got under my skin more than any explicit part did. Still, when it *gets* explicit - holy hell - it doesn’t hold back, and neither does he. The sound design there is weirdly raw, like they recorded someone’s actual gasps instead of stock moans. It’s hot but also slightly uncomfortable, which I think might be the point. I actually had to pause the game once, not out of guilt but because it felt too *real*.
After finishing it, I went scrolling through art boards, trying to find fan sketches to fill the silence. There aren’t many yet, which feels wrong. Riley deserves more people drawing him, or maybe less - I don’t know. The menu theme keeps looping in my head even now. It’s not sexy, just this soft keyboard riff like the sound of someone thinking too long before saying “I miss you” out loud. Maybe that’s what the whole thing is: a confession stuck inside code.
