The Fog v1.1.0
Rain, shitty fluorescent lights, and this supermarket that feels like it should close ten years ago, that’s where this thing starts. Not some heroic fantasy, just a tired guy wanting to go home and touch grass or at least touch his bed, and then this weird fog crawls in outside and everything goes sideways. Doors don’t open, phones start losing signal, people quickly stop acting nice. I liked how it doesn’t jump straight into sex. First you walk around, check aisles, talk to strangers who pretend to be normal. An office lady shaking a little but still trying to keep it together, some creep that talks too much, a “helpful” clerk who smiles too wide. You feel that pressure building like a storm in your chest, and then the game starts asking you those quiet nasty questions: what do you trade for safety, who do you sell out, who do you touch when no one can leave anyway.
Once the fear settles in, the corruption really starts to taste heavy. It’s not just monsters outside, it’s people rotting from inside, and your guy can lean into that very hard. One moment you’re comforting a scared girl in the storage room, the next moment your hand is on her thigh and the text is like “you could pull away, but why would you.” The scenes aren’t shy at all: sloppy oral in the staff toilet while someone bangs on the door, a handjob under the counter while alarms scream somewhere in the background, rough domination in that frozen-goods aisle where you always get cold feet in real life. I liked that some of the sex feels almost transactional and ugly, like prostitution without the money, just “I’ll protect you if you get on your knees.” There’s this one part where a character you were nice to before basically offers herself because the fear broke her, and it hits messy: hot and fucked up at same time. Animation is surprisingly expressive, too, small details in faces, that little flinch when you grab hair a bit too hard, cum shots that don’t just fade out politely but actually hit skin and clothes and stay there while they keep talking like it’s normal.
The horror isn’t background dressing either. Sometimes you’re mid-blowjob and there is this sound from outside, like something huge scratching the metal shutters, and you have this half-second choice: keep going or stop and check. And it’s funny how often “keep going” feels like the only sane thing. Violence pops in when people finally crack completely, and the game does this cruel thing where a guy you forced to watch you use his partner later tries to stab you. I kinda hated one detail where snack prices on the shelves are all over the place and my brain kept comparing them to my local Lidl, which pulled me out of the scene every time, but anyway. Data-brain me was watching my own choices like they are a chart: every time I picked the more dominant, cruel option, the story branches drifted darker, characters’ body language changed, their eyes more dead, the sex more desperate, more choking, less romance and more “shut up and open your mouth.” You can travel between sections of the supermarket, like a sad little open world of horror and horny, and it’s weird how quickly the storage room becomes your private fuck dungeon while the front entrance turns into a war zone. By the time the fog feels almost normal, your guy is either a dirty guardian devil or just a monster in human shape, and the game doesn’t really judge you, it just lets you keep pushing until there’s nothing left of “ordinary people” except sweat, cum, bruises and that sick little thrill of having power where the world outside turned to shit.
