Tennis Ace v0.85
The first thing that hit me with this one was how horny it is for sweat. Not just naked skin, but that specific mix of hard training and teenage frustration. You play this tennis prodigy who is kind of a mess right now, all pressure, no results, trapped in a Japanese high school where everyone seems to stare at his body more than at his score. The game leans into that in a fun way: long practice scenes, tight uniforms that cling when they get wet, shower rooms that feel way too small for the number of broad shoulders packed inside. It is clearly aimed at people who like strong guys and locker room energy, but it still treats the main guy like a person, not just walking meat. I liked that. Or I think I did. He complains a lot too, which is sort of hot and sort of annoying.
What surprised me is how many moments are just… talking. Not those boring visual novel walls where you spam skip on your phone, but low-key conversations about rankings, old matches, how it feels when your body changes faster than your mind can follow. You are surrounded by other boys who are playing, training, watching you, and the game lets them be awkward. Some are soft and shy, some are huge muscle idiots who flex more than they speak. There is this one practice match where your rival grabs your wrist to correct your grip on the racket, stands behind you, his chest against your back, and it lingers just a tiny bit too long. No big speech, just two guys breathing a bit harder than they should. Of course, a few scenes later the same guy is railroading you into a very explicit shower “lesson” that escalates from soap on the back to your ass pressed against the tiles, but somehow it still feels like the same person. The anal stuff is not romantic at all at first, it is intense and a bit rough, but the more routes you check, the more the game hints that most of these dudes are secretly lonely as hell.
Since it runs as a mobile game too, I played a bunch of it on the train with brightness low, pretending to scroll Twitter while actually trying not to accidentally tap through a blowjob scene. Swiping through menus with one hand and trying to hide the screen when a furry side character shows up with his dumb cute tennis jacket was a whole adventure on its own. The furry route feels like it escaped from another app and no one bothered to send it back, but I kinda liked that. Some sprites are weirdly off, like one guy’s arm looks too short when he lifts his shirt, and the text sometimes sounds like it came from Google Translate, but then there is this perfectly written line about how winning a match hurts less than getting ignored in the changing room. I keep telling myself I am in it for the “pure romance” options, like the slow build, kissing in empty corridors, fingers brushing when you pass a racket, but every single time I swear I will skip the hardcore scenes and then suddenly I am watching the protagonist getting his ass stretched on a locker bench after practice, while the coach talks about footwork like this is completely normal. I wish they toned that down a bit, but they will not, and maybe that is why I keep opening it instead of something safe like Candy Crush. Or Duolingo.
