Mirthful Glory Days - v0.1
Alister getting yanked out of hell and dumped into this weirdly cheerful fantasy world feels like someone mixed a grim bible story with horny fanfic they wrote on their phone during a bus ride. One second he is this pissed-off demon with way too much attitude, next second he is stuck with a disgraced prince who looks like he got kicked out of a knight academy for being too queer and too loud, and a tiny gnome bard who talks like he knows exactly how to blackmail people with what they moan during sex. The game pretends to be about hunting a “crazed” warlock, but honestly the real chaos is in how often the tension between these three just turns into “ok, but are we fucking or fighting right now.” The whole thing has this playful, slightly trashy vibe, like those fan comics people post on Twitter where everyone has sharp teeth, big thighs, and terrible decision-making skills. You click through, thinking “haha cute,” and suddenly you are staring at demon abs and reading about how horny a banished prince can get in a tent when he thinks nobody is watching.
What I liked is how the erotic scenes feel very character-shaped. When Alister gets handsy, it feels rough and kind of mean, like he is still testing what “consent” even means outside of hell, and when Izaak responds, it is this mix of shame, brat energy, and wanting to kneel in front of something finally honest after all the royal bullshit he grew up with. There was this moment at a campfire, when the warlock is just a rumor and everyone is tired, where the gnome casually drops a filthy joke about “tuning a demon’s instrument,” and the game gives you choices that are half moral and half horny: do you shut him down and keep things professional, or do you lean into it and basically admit that yeah, you’ve been staring at Alister’s claws and thinking how they’d feel around your throat. The writing goes hard on cocks, sweat, precum, all that, but it is not just pointless porn spam; it ties back to how each guy is messed up in his own way. Izaak wanting to serve because he never got to choose anything in his life, Alister using sex as distraction from a bigger metaphysical fuckup, the bard acting like a pervert clown but clearly clocking everybody’s needs like a therapist with a flute. It is horny, silly, occasionally clumsy, and somehow that makes it feel more honest than a lot of overly “polished” stuff. Also, the log text uses this one font choice that annoyed me and I still kept clicking, which probably says more about me than about the game.
